Kitsap Mustang Club Presents

Ann Buckbee's ~ 1965 Convertible

Ann and her husband John Buckbee have been KMC members since the Clubs inception in 1988.  They reside in Port Orchard.   The Buckbee's have been active members in KMC, with John having served on the Board as President in 1993, as Vice President in 1998, and as Tech and Program Chair in both 1989 and 1997.  They have participated in many Club events and projects, plus attended several shows and parades!

This is Ann's 1965 Convertible, which is vintage burgandy in color.  It has white interior with burgandy trim.  The convertible top is also white.  It sports a V-8 with automatic transmission, and has a power top, power steering, front disc brakes and dual master brake cylinder.  Ann bought this pony from a private owner in Lynnwood, WA in the summer of 1990.  John, her husband, completed the restoration in the spring of 1996.

During restoration, this pony was converted from a 6 cylinder car with 3 speed manual tranny, and no power anything... to what it features today!  It was also caspian blue, with blue interior and a black top before it became what you see above!  The Buckbee's had alot of fun going to swap meets and junk yards to find the parts that they needed to complete this restoration and transition.   John considered it a challenge to do as much of the work as he could himself to keep the cost of restoration down to a minimum.  The only part of the restoration that John didn't do himself, was the final body work and exterior painting.  Ann only drives this pony in the summer months.

The Buckbee's other pony is a:  86 SVO.  In the past, the Buckbee's have owned:  86 GT T-top, 68 GT/CS, 65 A Code Coupe, 66 T Code Convertible, 65 A Code GT Fastback, 65 A Code GT Coupe, and a 91 GT Convertible.  The Buckbee's can be reached via email at jcbuckbee@charter.net in the event you want to inquire about any of their Mustangs or ask a restoration question!
