Kitsap Mustang Club Presents

Chris Buxton's 1964 1/2 Coupe

Chris has been a member of KMC since March of 1999.   Chris has been active in the Club, participating in the Roadside clean-ups, many shows, and even helps other members with Pony restorations when he is not aboard his ship, protecting our Country.

This bright little Pony is a 1964 1/2 which was built in San Jose, CA in July of 1964.  It still has the "original" California plates on it today.  The car's exterior paint was originally silver smoke grey, with black interior and white headliner.  The color you see now is crome yellow on the exterior, with an entirely black interior.  This Mustang sports a 289 engine with C-4 Transmission and factory AC.  The rear end has been modified to a 3.0-8" posi, has a 65 guage GT cluster, now has '66 Comfort Weave interior, and electronic ignition.  It features 15 inch vented 48 rims, and the 289 has been beefed up to 400 horses.  Chris purchased this Pony in October 1986 from a High School friend, in Bakersfield, California.  When Chris joined the Navy in 1986, he put this Pony in the stable for twelve years, when he decided to make the car drivable and brought it to Washington State.  Chris and KMC member and friend, Lou Sellers, performed a restoration on this Pony which took about four months beginning in February of 1999.
