Kitsap Mustang Club Presents

Jim and Lisa Johansen's

2001 Convertible

Jim and Lisa live aboard Naval Submarine Base Bangor and have 3 children, Alexander, Courtney, and Joseph. They joined Kitsap Mustang Club in 2002 and have enjoyed being members, meeting other Mustang enthusiasts and partaking in the numerous activities offered through the club. Jim became KMC president for 2005.

The 2001 Convertible was purchased in 2004 to replace a 1998 Mitsubishi Mirage. As a daily driver the V6 made sense compared to the GT for gas and insurance reasons. It is a 232 cubic inch V6 with the premium package which includes leather seats, Mach Audio system, aluminum wheels, rear spoiler, and power everything.

After discovering a large variety of sites dedicated to improving performance for the V6’s, Jim has discovered that a lot of performance can be pulled from the V6 and will be researching how to pull more horsepower from it in the days ahead as well as some body style changes.

Jim’s first car was a 1968 Coupe and this 2001 is his third, the second being a 1965 coupe.
