Alan Rickett's 1972 GrandeSPAZ's 1972 Grande

Alan, AKA Spaz, is a charter member of KMC, making him a member since 1988.   He resides in Port Orchard.   Alan served on the KMC Board as Tours and Events Chair in 1991.    He has participated in numerous shows, parades, and KMC events.    Alan's trophy collection is quite impressive!

Alan bought this 1972 Grande in June of 1979 when he was just 16 years old, from Vlist Motors in Port Orchard.    It was Alan's first car, and quite a car it is:  It sports a 351 Cobra Jet motor, 4 speed manual transmission, and features tilt steering wheel, power windows, factory AM/8-Track (Oooh! Those 70's), deluxe guage package, nasa hood, and heavy duty sway bars.  This pony is dark green metallic (which was a re-paint in 1979 right after he purchased it), and it has ginger cloth interior, (which was replaced in 1999 by KMC's own, Ole Watson and John Buckbee).   Other than the paint and interior, the car is stock and un-restored.  This Pony is one of 140 Grande's made with this color combination.  Once the rest of the features are narrowed down, I'm sure he'll find out that he has a pretty rare beauty!

Alan has owned other Mustangs in the past.  In High School he also owned a 1964 1/2 Coupe with a 289 4 speed, and just after he graduated, he had a 1978 Mustang II V-6 with a T-Top.    Alan claims that he feels pretty fortunate to have owned this Mustang since he was 16 years old and managed to keep it straight!
