Kitsap
Mustang Club Presents:
Bob
& Lee Wolfe's 1969 Shelby GT350

Bob and Lee joined
KMC as charter members back in 1988. The Wolfe's bought this 69 Shelby GT 350
in August of 2002! Bob and Lee sold the previous '69 GT350 Convertible which was
blue. Bob wanted to find a '69 or '70 Grabber Green fastback... so he went on every
website he could find to hunt one down. Finally he found one at a Classic Car
dealership in Indianapolis Indiana. They made contact, discussed the Shelby,
and made arrangements for Bob to fly out to see it. Bob's impression of the car was
not the same as the dealer's. Bob told him that it needed way too much work for the
asking price and he had the guy take him directly back to the airport without having even
made an offer. Bob and Lee discussed what it was going to take to bring the Shelby
to Bob's standards, and Bob contacted the dealer with an offer. He accepted and made
arrangements for the car to be shipped to Bob and Lee.
This particular
Shelby is Grabber Green with a 351 Windsor. Features include black deluxe interior,
a fold down rear seat, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, AM/FM, tinted
windows and roll bar. When Bob took ownership of it, he began fixing
everything. When he removed the interior, he found that the wiring to the console
was cut up and the original Shelby wiring was missing. He began his hunt, finding
mostly everything, except for some that he had to build with the help of a guy in Utah.
When he was finally ready to start it, it wouldn't turn over, so with the help of
John Buckbee, they found a broken wire at the ignition switch. Lou Sellers
came through with a new one. They finally got it started, and went off to the glass
place to get a new gasket installed in the rear window. Then it was off to the
muffler shop to fix it up with the sweet sound every mustang enthusiast likes to hear.
Bob and Lee also
proudly own a 1966 GT Coupe, a 1968 California Special, a 1993 Cobra, a 1994 Cobra Pace
Car, a 1970 Boss 302 and a 1967 Shelby GT500. They previously owned and completely
restored a 1969 GT350 Covertible. Definetely true Mustang enthusiasts in our
opinion! You can email the Wolfe's at randlw@comcast.net if you would like to inquire or comment about their
Mustangs or Mustang related information.
